Schumer, McConnell introduce resolution to bring New Yorker held by Taliban back home

WASHINGTON (WBNG) -- Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell called for the release of Ryan Corbett, a New York native who is currently being held by the Taliban in Afghanistan.
Corbett was detained by the militant group on August 10, 2022. Schumer described Corbett as an American humanitarian who was unjustly detained. Schumer noted that he has been held by them for more than 600 days.
